Singapore has many ethnic backgrounds from Chinese, Indian and Malaysian. In the early 20th century each were centralised around their own part of the country otherwise known as quarters. As the city became more networked with diversified forms of transport the quarters are not as distinct as before however the main central location of each quarter still exists for a small proportion of each ethnic type and also as a tourist attraction. These sites are Arab Street (the Indians), Malay Village (the Malaysians) and Chinatown (the Chinese). Since World War II, Singapore has high concentration of war related cultural sites. Spread across the city state are sites such as Fort Siloso on Sentosa Island, Kranji War Memorial and the Changi Chapel and Museum. Cultural Sites around Singapore:
