The country of Singapore is an Island Nation surrounded by water just like Australia. There are many small Islands that are close to Singapore allowing easy day trips using local ferry services that depart frequently. The two main Islands visited by people when traveling to Singapore is Sentosa and Bintan. Sentosa Island is connected to the Singapore mainland via a causeway allowing easy access by local taxi. A cable car ride originating from Mount Fabar is a far more enjoyable way to arrive on Sentosa Island with amazing views of the mainland, channel and Island. Bintan Island is apart of Indonesia but is used by Singaporean residents for short getaways. The Island which is a 45 minute ferry ride is surrounded by crystal clear waters perfect for swimming, snorkeling or sun baking. Islands around Singapore:
