The Islamic community of Singapore use Mosques as the focus of religious, educational and social programs. Unlike Temples, Mosques are usually minimally covered with religious artifacts and are usually decorated with geometrically abstract designs including a circular apex. The three main Mosques of Singapore are the Sultan, Hajah Fatimah and Abdul Gafoor Mosques. The Sultan Mosque was constructed in 1824 and has been expanded many times to become extensive in its grounds. The Hajah Fatimah Mosque was built 22 years after the Sultan Mosque in 1846 with more of an British architectural flair. The Abdul Gafoor Mosque located in the Little India Quarter has inside a detailed framed Muslim prophet family tree. Mosques around Singapore:
