Bukit Timah Nature Reserve

Located in the centre of the country, the reserve is one of only two rainforests found within a city in the world. The other rainforest within a city is Rio de Janeiro.

The nature reserve is so abundant in flora species it is believed to contain more distinct species than that of the whole of North American Continent.

Predominately used for bird watching, recreation and relaxation it is a perfect place to visit for all nature enthusiasts.

Be sure to ascend the highest hill in Singapore within the reserve to hear the vocal calls from Long-Tailed Macaques (Monkeys) and to view the city of Singapore and the large fresh water reservoirs nearby.

Other species you can expect to find include Ant-eaters, the common Tree Shrew and the Flying Lemur.

The reserve, which is open 24 hours and has free admission, is also worth visiting if you are making your way to the Zoological Gardens or the Mundai Orchid Gardens.
