The majority of the temples in Singapore are Chinese and Hindi (Indian) in origin. Most of the Chinese Temples are based around Chinatown and for the Hindu Temples they are located around the Little India Quarter. Each type of culture that has temples as its base for worshipping also uses the same structures as the focus for their festivals during the different seasons and for community activities. If you only have a short time available to visit the Singapore Temples the best one to see visually from each culture would be the Sri Mariamman (Hindu Temple) and Thian Hock Keng (Chinese Temple).
